Having had the chance to shoot Maeve and David for their pre-wedding shoot in Loch Lomond, we got on great and I was really looking forward to capturing their day. The amazing Cai Graham accompanied me for the day as second shooter and it was a good experience having another photographer capturing candid moments throughout the day. In the morning I captured the atmosphere at Maeve’s parents home, in which the light was beautiful. While I shot there, Cai shot a range of images with David and the guys as they enjoyed a pre-wedding drink.
Walked up the aisle by her mum and dad, Maeve looked radiant as she and David set eyes on one another for the first time. The couple exchanged looks throughout the service and the love between them was evident to all.
Following the service we made our way to the house Maeve grew up in to capture family photos before heading on to the bride’s cousin’s home, where after canapés we shot the bridal party and the couple. Arriving at Shepherd’s Rest, the marquee looked increible and as I captured the details, Cai shot photos of the guests. The compere and speeches were truly hilarious and after cutting their cake the couple took to the dancefloor for a wonderful first dance.
David’s mum unfortunately took ill the day before the wedding and sadly spent the day in hospital. Following the first dance I drove the couple to the hospital, where they surprised David’s mum. I had the chance to shoot a few images and had prepared a same day slideshow for his mum to view. Honestly moments like that make me proud to be a wedding photographer and really touch me.
